Frédéric Boucheron was born in 1830 in Jussy, France. He was apprenticed to a jeweller in Paris before opening his own shop in 1858, and it soon became known for its high-quality jewellery and watches.
In 1893, Boucheron moved his shop to Place Vendôme, which is still the home of the Maison today. In 2000 Boucheron was acquired by Gucci Group, which in 2004 was acquired by by PPR, now known as now Kering whose other brands include Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen and Yves Saint Laurent.
