Two sterling silver cups, Norwegian and American, 20th century, American cup with maker's mark for Roden, an elegant heavy gauge Norwegian cup of bowl form with a slightly flared foot rim and a fluted scroll handle; a straight-sided cup with an everted rim and a shaped handle with scroll motifs; marked to both. Silver weight 211g. Height 1.97 in.
- Everted - An everted rim is an outwardly turning or flaring outwards rim, as seen the rims on jugs, vases, bowls and dishes.
- Sterling Silver - Sterling silver is a mixture of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of another metal, usually copper. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver, and is relatively soft and the addition of the very small amount of copper gives the metal enough strength and hardness to be worked into jewellery, decorative and household objects.
