A collection of six studio pottery wares by Ian McKay, comprising: a pair of oil spot bowls 4.72 in. diameter, a tea bowl in kuan glaze on White stoneware 3.54 in. high, lidded box, a soba glaze on porcelain box 2.99 in. diameter, a cylinder vase, black oil-spot on White stoneware 9.84 in. high, a cylinder vase, brown oil-spot 12.60 in. high and a celadon blossom jar 10.04 in. high. Provenance: Margaret Vine purchased from the Queensland Potters Association, August 1981 purchased July 1989 purchased as catalogue no. 13, Hugo Galleries, Manuka ACT. He studied music and English literature at the University of Queensland and librarianship in Sydney and Canberra before taking up pottery in 1972, training first with Errol Barnes, then with Col Levy.
