A set of Tibetan copper and silver repousse book covers 19th century, the book covers of painted wood with gilt decoration of lamas with yakshas to the inner surface. Encased in copper repousse depicting the eight precious Buddhists emblems amoungst scrolling foliage, decorated centrally to the front with a Buddha within a temple to the reverse with a cintamani, further embellished with turquoise and rock crystal cabochons, 18.31 in. x 6.50 in.
