Remued Pottery. Two blue modulated glaze vases, 1940's, comprising a matte waisted vase with horizontal flutes in beige modulating to blue, and a high shouldered high glazed vase in similar colours, incised marks of Remued and numbered 49 and 24-6 respectively, the flared mouth vase 6.50 in. high. - Incised - A record of a name, date or inscription, or a decoration scratched into a surface, usually of a glass or ceramic item with a blunt instrument to make a coarse indentation. Compare with engraving where the surface is cut with a sharp instrument such as a metal needle or rotating tool to achieve a fine indentation.
