A Kali ni Bitu headrest, Fiji, late 19th century. Placed under the head or the back of a neck whilst sleeping or resting. A composite form comprising of a bamboo (bitu) shaft for the neck rest and triangular palm wood feet that are lashed with coconut sennit to the neck rest. Height 7.09 in., width 18.50 in., depth 7.48 in.
