A pair of Indian cast bronze oil lamps, 19th century each of traditional form, the backplate cast with Gaja Lakshmi and elephants surrounded by plaited and beaded borders, one probably cast later, height 5.51 in., width 3.54 in., depth 3.74 in.

It is very fluid in a molten state, and its hardness, strength when set, and non-corrosive properties makes it most suitable for casting sculpture.
