John Woods - 1833 convict official Criminal record, manuscript vellum document, John Woods was convicted at Norwich in December 1833 for stealing fowls and transported to New South Wales, arriving at van Diemen's land, February 1835. The document describes John woods as trade Brickmaker and gives his physical appearance, it suggests he was in constant trouble with the authorities as numerous charges have been added, including being put in chains, given hard labour and lashes, the last entry is dated February 16, 1841, a few stains, 12.20 in. x 9.84 in.
