The maker who had been the Australian agent for Negretti & Zambra developed a light circumferentor that gained popularity for field surveying, a similar instrument was used in surveying the N.S.W. and Queensland borders. The all brass instrument with circular scale and hinged sighting vanes engraved with the maker's name
