A massive Royal Doulton 'Games and Pastimes' series circular wall charger, decorated in blue and white with a scene from the 'Music and Dance' series: three maidens performing a ribbon dance in a glade, framed by a border incorporating flowers and birds, printed marks to base, circa 1900 - 1913. Diameter 25.20 in.
- Charger - An oversize dish or plate in ceramic, silver, or pewter primarily made for display, but able to be used for serving at the table or on a sideboard.
- Circa - A Latin term meaning 'about', often used in the antique trade to give an approximate date for the piece, usually considered to be five years on either side of the circa year. Thus, circa 1900 means the piece was made about 1900, probably between 1895 and 1905. The expression is sometimes abbreviated to c.1900.
