A plated entree dish or food warmer, early 20th century, of oval bowl form with a conforming fitted lid with a flat top, with bright cut borders and gadrooned edges and trims, and an oval scrolled handle; unmarked but with numerals 01614 underside. Height 9.45 in. Length 12.01 in. Width 9.45 in.
- Gadrooning - A series of lobes usually as a border. In furniture gadrooning is found as carved decoration around the edges of table tops in the Chippendale and Jacobean style furniture. Gadrooning is also found as decoration on the rims of silver and ceramics.
