i) 1840 West Australian Colonial autographed document a rare West Australian colonial settlement, extract of Marriage certificate, 'Henry Robert Strickland of Perth, Bachelor & Mary Anne Hokin of Perth, Spinster, were married at Perth..24th December 1840 by me J. B. Wittenoom, Colonial Chaplain.' 12.68 in. x 7.95 in. (document). Note: Henry Robert Strickland a young man of 20 married Miss Hokin, who was his senior by little more than a year. Miss Hokin, was one of the passengers on the ship Parmelia—the first party of settlers who landed at Fremantle in 1829. Mrs Strickland is understood to have been one of the two remaining of that historic party alive turn of the century. Henry Robert Strickland arrived on the ship 'Hoogly', on February 12, 1830, and died 1907 aged 86. Mary Anne (nee Hokin) Strickland, arrived on the ship 'S. S. Parmelia' June 1st 1829 and died January 4th 1908, aged 88. Ii) six silver Gelatin prints relating to the Strickland family, including a picture of the Prince of Wales c.1920.
