A c.1910 rare 'Imp' fishtail tennis racket, very good example with press. Fishtail handled rackets were designed and popular in the late 19th century. They were touted as having greater acceleration but to all intents and purposes it was a fashion or fad which has been an intrinsic aspect of tennis rackets marketing since the 19th century. Fishtail rackets were manufactured by various companies who reputably copied Slazenger's 'Demon' fishtail from the 1890s. A very good condition, original vintage racket. Remnants of golf leaf imprinted labels remain. Original gut stringing with press.
